“The world is so full of a number of things, we all should be as happy as Kings.” -Robert Lewis Stevenson
I notice the soft good morning colors of the sunrise all stripy and muted. The goodnights celebrate with more fierce colors and pink clouds all beaming with love. The gate to feeling loved is to gratitude. Gratitude is seeing things the way Our God does. Even the hard things are glorious in the spiritual experiences they spur.
This weeks memories:
Twix cookies
Aunt Virginia (Caroline and Olive go Mondays and Wednesdays for a bit of love and books with my aunt next door)
Earache, congestion, stomach ache from dried fruit expansion, Caroline’s upset stomach and sleeping for so much of Friday
Going to Jordan Commons for in stock flooring and finding a bold tile I love
Grandpa helping with the floor installation
Grandma helping to cook and pick the floor pattern with the variety and colors going well
Staying home from AIM and resting- and painting
Cancelling play dates to hold a sick baby
Reading Winnie the Pooh at night with giggles and a lovely amused feeling
The finishing of our chemistry and ancient history study
Read Aloud Revival author event with Kate Albus
Cousins came and a few moments of massage enjoyed
The Taylor’s took all five children for a few hours while Fran and I ate dinner alone I looked at the table and thought of the song lyrics from Les Miserables, “empty chairs and empty tables”
A good week of basketball and Fran’s coaching the boys; they all have grown
Some Christmas project making and decorating
Games with dad after hours of hashing out some family clashing and establishing expectations, vision of what we want our family to feel
