This week has elements of disaster that pulled our family together, exposed some weaknesses and highlighted some strengths. Thanksgiving week we were well. After a outing in the cold, Olive developed pneumonia and the rest of the week was her slow recovery mingled with pressure to prepare the stairs for new carpet, broken treasures, a child’s bad coping skills resurfacing (aka screaming), a child’s fits and fights for more control just to realize there didn’t need to be any changes, just understanding and so much service and goodness.
Thanksgiving was peaceful and I felt so loved. It comes with being grateful- the realization of how much love we are shown in the way we are taken care of and the people we get to care for. We had blessings of help Thanksgiving laying the floor, tiling and taking out old carpet. We had sweet memories with family and delicious food. Robyn has helped so much play games with the children and bring gingerbread house decorating to our week. She just pops up and steps in when we need her so much.
Cole got to perform in a music review and on his recorder. It was pajama and a Christmas party at AIM.
Art, nature, music, poetry, stories and writing and reading.
Letters
The week of Thanksgiving we had our exams- oral essays, recording our memory work, compiling our portfolio wring and art pieces, logging our reading and online standardized tests. We worked hard and we’re rewarded with new books. The new books were read before the day ended.
