This is a week for books. We gathered books for a book drive. We started an audio book, The Children of the New Forest. We read a Scottish story, "Wee Gillis," and several Irish Fairy Tales. We listened to Julie Fowlis. She is the singing voice in the movie "Brave." She sings most of her songs in Scottish Gaelic.

We did a lab with friends, learning about acids and bases. We took baking soda water, a base, wrote messages on paper, then dipped them in cranberry juice to reveal them.

For Writing, we are continuing NaNoWriMo. Slow and steady, celebrating what we can do. It is turning into correct typing work. I'll type for the boys so the writing has chunks of quick progress. Then, they work carefully with less pressure.
I've been reading books about Music. I am learning to appreciate the habits music instruction facilitates. We learn concentration, order, honesty and careful thought. We learn also to feel and serve through creating beautiful tones that hold beautiful truths.
Music heals us by harmony.
