We began the new year with making brightly colored tissue paper snowflakes.
We tried making checklists and tags to create more choice and accountability. It was mostly successful.
Our country focus was Canada. We read a story of settling Quebec and Fort Saint Louis, Champlain and Leif Erikson. We drew a map of the provinces. Hawaiian pizza was created in Canada so we added it to our menu along with split pea soup, and pecan tarts.
I read a book called, An Episode of Sparrows by Rumer Goddard. I enjoyed the writing and subject matter. Watching flowers grow can heal empty parts of our hearts.
We had swimming, dance, basketball and a sledding adventure.
We started our bulb forcing. This year with paper whites- a lovely but foul smelling bloom.
