“Can we go back to yesterday?”

Time can’t be rewound, Caroline. It does replay in our memories, but onward we live.

This weeks top ten memories!

  1. Ogden Nature Center has birds of prey. Each with a story of injury or human contact and each with a personality in the way they tilt their head and look back.

  2. Dinosaur Park delights included meeting Mrs. Hendricks, seeing a fabulous rock collection, freezing in the park with the huge dinosaurs, and finding some family friends. Olive loved the moving dinosaur exhibit. She wanted to go back three times to watch the T Rex fight the mother and baby Triceratops.

  3. We had a day of school with another family. We enjoyed a rigorous game of words from a word, still life art, and reading together.

  4. For AIM we had a backwards day that lost its appeal with how uncomfortable it is. The older two children were brave and tried out for a solo. They didn’t get the parts, but I hope they will keep hope and courage bright. Encouragement and consolation matter to tender hearts.

  5. Basketball games were epic this week with Eli’s disputed tie late into the night and Cole’s scoring craze.

  6. Monday we had music lessons all back to back with the four children. They all got some attention and a good practice plan. It worked well. I am so grateful they are willing to work hard to have music in their lives. Music brings joy at the price of wanting it enough to give it time, attention and a bit of our hearts.

  7. Caroline is so eager to read and has started finding her words in random places. “Of” is used quite a bit you know.

  8. In response to my study of Art we implemented some changes. All children got fine art in their rooms of their choice. Eli picked Turner, Cole picked a variety of scenic first and mountain landscapes. Della wanted color and hence got Van Gogh. Caroline has Cassatt. Cole said all the little girls in Cassatt’s painting look bored. Vermeer is in the dining room and vintage black and white prints are in our studio school room. I plan on adding variety to our picture study and re-enacting scenes of people. The goal in memorizing pictures is to have beautiful images and the truths they share in our minds for the day when we need to be lifted or inspired.

  9. Della got to attend the Bountiful Temple for her first time. She loved it and we are so grateful our friends invited us to join them. What a good thing it is to connect to eternal blessings.

  10. This week has felt so rich with making new friends. I met a beautiful woman who seems to shine generosity at every turn. She has already given me so much; I feel desire to do so much for her. That is a lesson to be of the Power of service to connect hearts.
